3.5" IPS vs 3.5" TN Viewing Angle

3.5

Here is an example to show the optical difference between 3.5" IPS vs 3.5" TN. The one at the left of picture is the 3.5" 320*480 TFT using IPS technology with super wide viewing angle from all directions. Whereas the one at the right is also the 3.5" 320*480 TFT but in TN technology where we can see the gray scale inversion from 12 o'clock making the screen look darker. As introduced in the technical part: IPS vs TN TFT (https://www.taimates.com.tw/TN-IPS-TFT/), it's genetically the major difference in the TFT panel cell structure. From some application with fixed mounting location, the TN one should be sufficient in most of the usage condition. However, if the application is portable or requires a wider viewing range for the end users, the IPS one is better choice to consider.
